How much rent can I claim back in Castle Point?

The cap, in local numbers

The ONS sample for Castle Point is too thin to quote a median honestly. The tribunal uses your actual rent paid, never an area average — so pull the figure from your tenancy agreement and bank statements.

Then the deductions bite

• Universal Credit housing element paid for you is subtracted — bring every award letter (details).
• Bills included in rent trim the award by the utility share (the *Acheampong v Roman* approach).
• s.44 conduct moves the final number on both sides’ behaviour.

Worked illustration

Illustration at the national median room rent (£495/month, ONS): a full 24-month claim nets roughly £7,900 after typical deductions — your rent decides.

Against whom, and where

Filed with the Residential property: Eastern region: rpeastern@justice.gov.uk, 01223 841 524 — region details. A claims agency charging 30% would keep about a third of whatever the number turns out to be; the EvidenceCanvas pack is priced per artifact — typically 5–6 Action Credits, about £22–£27.

Ready to claim? The EvidenceCanvas RRO engine calculates the rent to reclaim (including Universal Credit and utility deductions), complete Form RRO1, and compile a bookmarked, searchable First-tier Tribunal applicant bundle. It is not a law firm and does not give legal advice. Priced per artifact — typical 5–6 Action Credits, about £22–£27 — not a percentage of your award.
